A demo of a raycasting 3D engine built entirely from in-game mechanisms in vanilla Factorio 0.17. It renders simple 3D scenes, producing a new frame every 45 game ticks, with the video sped up to compensate for low UPS.
HN points to it as a showpiece of what Factorio's circuit network can compute, alongside other absurd in-game computing feats.

A little bit off topic but I recently saw something regarding a Ray-tracing engine built inside of the game Factorio. Check it out here - this video
When I saw this title, I first thought it was about understanding the cockroach-like aliens in Factorio, but it is actually about queuing and congestion and parallel processing with conveyor belts and factories! With the caveat that Factorio is EXTREMELY addictive, properly described as "programmer crack", here are some other Factorio related discussions: Factorio – a game where you can automate basically anything (factorio.com) [LINK] [LINK] "This game is like crack for programmers." -kentonv (Tech lead for Cloudflare Workers, author of Sandstorm.io, Cap'n Proto) [LINK] Raycasting engine in Factorio game – Facto-RayO v1.0 [video] (youtube.com) [LINK] this video Factorio to talk about horizontal scaling of software services (medium.com) [LINK] [LINK] Mapping Factorio with Leaflet (cloudflare.com) [LINK] [LINK]
You mean the Combinators and circuit network? Pretty visual already: [LINK] I mean it basically runs doom already: this video
