I'd imagine the vast majority of most people on HN already watch Mark Rober, never the less- in case you missed it, he did a fun video on bed bugs last month: this video
Here is a fun YouTube video about research based eradication of bed bugs [0] Lots of facts like bed bugs don't carry or transmit diseases. [0] this video
mark rober did a good entertaining video on this, including the various tricks how to get rid of them (and what does not work) this video
If you have bedbugs (and if you do then I’m so sorry) then I recommend not using the chemical treatments. These supposedly just scatter them everywhere, causing them to spread. The two treatments that work reliably seem to be: - Whole building heat treatment, but this is the nuclear option as it involves heating the entire building (including cracks and crevices) to 60c - Repeated steam treatments. Superheated steam kills them on contact, but doesn’t scare them away. Any remaining bugs will gravitate towards sleeping areas and can be got by repeating the steam treatment within a 2 week window which is how long their reproduction cycle takes. EDIT: the Mark Rober video linked below ( this video ) also contains much of the same advice.
