Watzlawick, P. (1993): The Situation is Hopeless, But Not Serious: The Pursuit of Unhappiness

This book explained to me how self-fulfilling prophecies work. ps. If you know German, I recommend you read it in the original language.

Recently, "The Situation is Hopeless... But Not Serious" - Paul Watzlawick

All of Nietzsche. Antioedipus. Marcuse's One Dimensional Man. Wittgenstein's Notebooks. The works of Vilem Fluser. Basically most major/famous philosophers are a solid bet.

This reminds me of the great book "The Situation Is Hopeless But Not Serious" [0] by the Austrian-American psychologist Paul Watzlawick. Excellent use of reverse psychology, let's you realize how many of those approaches you tend to use in your daily life.
