    Make time

    Jake Knapp · 2018

Do you ever wonder where your day went? Or daydream about activities you'll get to "someday"? Knapp and Zeratsky share their tactics for a four-step daily framework that you can use to systematically re-design your days. Highlight, Laser, Energize, Reflect. You may not be able to add more hours to your day-- but you can learn to make your life your own, day by day. -- adapted from jacket

I don't get what introvert has to do with focus.

Besides that, if you really need to stay off your phone, consider a "distraction free" phone as outlined in the book Make Time by Jake Knapp. Its a solid book but you can also glean that part of it from his blog:

      https://medium.com/make-time/six-years-with-a-distraction-fr...

His version might be extreme for some. At the very least disable all notifications (save maybe texts from your SO/children) and delete social media apps.

After trying out a dumb phone for a while last year, I found I still wanted modern phone features like camera, decent text messaging, shared calendar, maps, etc..

One idea in Make Time [1] was the idea of deleting distracting apps from your phone, which makes your phone into an amazing tool that does not foster distraction. I found this to be better than using Apple/Facebook/Google time management tools since it keeps me in control and not still relying on them and their tools.

When I want to check Instagram I use the website and if I would like to post, I just download the app again and log in.

I built a small tool called "Highlight One Thing".

It asks a simple question: what do you want the highlight of your day to be? https://highlight-one-thing.glitch.me/

I built this for the Product Hunt Maker Festival using Coda and Glitch. This idea came to me after my 2nd gen iPad was crashing Nick Burka's One Big Thing app.

I remixed his app with John Zeratsky's and Jake Knapp's Highlight concept from their book, Make Time.

I organized my thoughts around highlights and my journey to focus in one piece. Read it here: https://medium.com/@kunalslab/what-do-you-want-the-highlight...
