A compilation of clips of diesel truck drivers rolling coal, blasting black exhaust smoke, at protesters. It is framed in a mocking political tone.

Used as a critical example of hostile, spiteful behavior and of the culture around coal rolling.

Your misconceptions about reality and kids are sad and badly misinformed. Bakfiets are quite common and extremely popular in the Netherlands, and people carry their kids around in them all over the place all the time. They even have transparent hoods and windshields for the rain. And the kids and parents absolutely love the delightful experience of safely biking all around the beautiful parks and ubiquitous well maintained bike paths of the city and countryside together. Biking in Amsterdam on a bakfiets with kids [LINK] And now they even have bakfiets eBikes with heavy duty powerful motors and stepless continuous variable planetary hubs with automatic transmissions (Enviolo Automatiq), which make them easy and effortless to ride. So you can stop at lights without shifting down, and they automatically shift down without pedaling and back up as you accelerate, so you can pay full attention to the road, other riders, and your kids, instead of worrying and hassling with shifting gears. Review: Lovens cargo bike (with English subtitles!) [LINK] @3:23> After a week this cargo bike really feels like a second car. Maybe even my first car. Before every journey I thought: Can I take the cargo bike, or do I need the car? Often the cargo bike sufficed. My wife needed to take the kids to the other side of town. She was late going to the playground, took the cargo bike, and arrived well ahead of time. We had a day out with it, disposed of waste paper and went shopping. There's no problem

The cafe scene really happened. The Dutch tend to be straightforward and just say what they think. Have you ever heard the term "Rolling Coal"? It's an actual "thing" done by the same kind of people who think Hummers make them look cool. Rolling Coal On Protesters Compilation (BlackLivesMatter, Trump Haters, Tree Huggers): this video [LINK] >Rolling coal is the illegal practice of modifying a diesel engine to increase the amount of fuel entering the engine in order to emit large amounts of black or grey sooty exhaust fumes into the air. Rolling coal is sometimes used as a form of anti-environmentalism. Such modifications may include the intentional removal of the particulate filter. Practitioners often additionally modify their vehicles by installing smoke switches and smoke stacks. Modifications to a vehicle to enable rolling coal may cost from US$200 to US$5,000.

    3. @FrondoMay 2019· in “Environmentalist didn't speak for 17 years to learn how to listen to opponents”

It is hard to characterize anti-environmental behaviors as anything other than spiteful; there's never a conversation about how to appropriately account for externalities, never talk about trade-offs. This is what you get instead: this video The comments on that video are all mean-spirited, too, and that's just one of many...
