A seven-minute demo from the author of Notcurses, a C library for text user interfaces. It shows the 2.3.0 release, which adds Sixel and Kitty bitmap graphics integrated into its multiplane character-graphics model.
HN people share it as a striking demonstration of how much graphics a modern terminal can do.

If you haven't seen the work Nick Black is doing with notcurses [0] it's pretty amazing to see what it can do with bitmapped graphics in a modern terminal. Makes me wonder if we're ready for a resurgence of TUIs with full motion graphics. [0] this video
Ok, if you're looking into notcurses, you may want to watch this: this video (~ 6') the WTF effect that video had on me lasted quite a while. I still can't describe it.

It’s buried in that list, but Notcurses is fast and challenges assumptions about what can be done in a terminal. this video
You should try some modern terminals fx.: - Contour [LINK] - Wezterm [LINK] Both fast terminals with modern features and cross platform. Also checkout Notcurses: [LINK] Here is a video of the Notcurses demo running in a terminal: this video
