A short stand-up bit from Bill Burr at Night of Too Many Stars 2012, mocking Steve Jobs and the reverence surrounding him.
Shared as a joke in Steve Jobs and Apple threads as a funny counterpoint to the Jobs hagiography.

> shameless crook Over a decade after his death, there is plenty of observable, egregious shamelessness and brigandry in the world. Jobs was a successful player in a big, bruising corporate world. Jobs was ruthless in business and cruel in some personal relationships. But he had skills and talent too. Apple wouldn't exist today without his leadership through a critical juncture. He was also a driving force for usability in products. Notice how no one seems to promote usability anymore. (We do however pay lip-service to sustainability .) I never liked the cult of idolatry that developed around the person. Comedian Bill Burr offers the best excoriation of that phenemonon. [0] "New phone can't fit the old charger? This is your hero?!" Probably everyone's seen this, but if you haven't..I thought it was very funny. Didn't know much about Jobs until recently, but watched Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine and Pirates of Silicon Valley and some other stuff shortly before seeing this – and thought "Ohh - he was Joe McMillan in Halt and Catch Fire , only Joe evolved into a decent guy" – and it seems pretty factually accurate at least : Bill Burr on Steve Jobs (5 mins) this video p.s. My answer is No, I didn't know the guy. Strange question. List of dead people I miss: my mother.
When I think about the cult of Steve Jobs, I then immediately think of this skit by Bill Burr - this video I recommend you have a look in case you haven't.
Good. Reminds me of the Bill Burr bit about Steve Jobs: «New phone can't fit the old charger. This is your hero?» Link: this video
Bill Burr has a pretty unique take on Jobs, reducing him to "he told other people what to invent": this video
