    The International Jew

    Henry Ford · 1974

The famous American industrialist and automobile manufacturer Henry Ford purchased The Dearborn Independent, an independent journal, in 1918. Ford then used this newspaper to publish a series of 80 articles between 1920 and 1922 on what he identified as the "Jewish Question in America." The Dearborn Independent was distributed nationwide to Ford dealer showrooms and was offered free of charge to the general public. At its peak, circulation reached 700,000 readers. The work's reach was worldwide and was quoted in Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf. Henry Ford's picture hung in Hitler's office, and in July 1938, the German consul at Cleveland gave Ford, on his 75th birthday, the award of the Grand Cross of the German Eagle, the highest medal Nazi Germany could bestow on a foreigner. The 80 articles were later republished in book form but were severely redacted and edited, with an abridged version becoming the most widely circulated copy. This version is the full unexpurgated original of Ford's groundbreaking study of the Jewish Question, and contains all the content, prefaces included, of the books first published by The Dearborn Independent as Volume 1: The International Jew: The World's Foremost Problem (1920); Volume 2: Jewish Activities in the United States (1921). The companion book contains the other two volumes - Back cover.

    What Hacker News says

    1. failwhalesharkMay 2021
      Absolutely.

Popularity and taste rarely coincide because most people have no taste.

(Me covets a The Doors of Perception / Heaven and Hell first edition.)

The other thing is to read books that are important, not just ones that are preferred or pleasant for a wider perspective:

      - Mein Kampf

      - Capital (Das Kapital)

      - Technological Slavery

      - The International Jew

      - A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indies

      - The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire Vol. 1-6.

      - (ones by ideological opposites)

      - America: The Farewell Tour

      - Sorrows of Empire

Also, people who don't own any books, paper or Kindle... that's a big "nope."

      Yep.

      Examples:

"The International Jew" - Henry Ford, BFF with Adolf Hitler.

Musk "Roman Salutes" more-or-less prove he wasn't able to overcome South Africa's apartheid hate ideology.

      Hans Reiser - convicted murderer

Kip Macy & Nicole Macy - landlords from hell

Martin Shkreli - (no introduction necessary)

Impact and moral reputation/integrity are mostly orthogonal properties. It's the responsibility of decent people to rightly boycott crooks, warmongers, pedophiles, and ethno-nationalist suprematists. When this corrective moderation breaks-down, society is in deep shit.

There's been a lot of revisionist history with the World War 2 and the Cold War that really understates the USSR's instrumental role in defeating Germany.

Fascism was popular in the US. Henry Ford shared his thoughts by publishing The International Jew [1]. Hitler was a fan. Ford was mentioned by name in Mein Kampf. We had the Business Plot [2] in 1933. There was a Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden in 1939. The German American Bund was present until 1941.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Stalin had initially sought an anti-German alliance with Britain and France but was rebuffed, leading to the deal with Hitler.

The US had ~400,000 casulaties in the European campaign and none really until D-Day in 1944. The USSR lost somewhere between 26 and 30 million people in WW2, something only really revealed by a 1959 census. Had Germany defeated the USSR and taken MOscow in 1941-1942, we would live in a very different world.

The result of World War 2 was that Hitler lost but the fascists won. Under the guise of fighting Communism (eg the Truamn Doctrine, leading to the Korean and Vietnam wars). NATO was an imperial project. Charles De Gaulle (in the 1960s) went so far as to say Western Europe was in danger of becoming a US protectorate.

We all know about Operation Paper Clip (I hope) but less known is how Nazis found their way into NATO. Adolf Heusinger went from Hitler's Chief of the German High Command to Chairman of the NATO Military Committee. And he wasn't the only one [3].

So when that commenter called the Cold War "retarded", I suspect they're referring to how the US took up Nazi Germany's fight against Communism.

The whole Red Scare was terrible for average American citizens. It was used to dismantle the labor movement and unions and ultimately led to Nixon, Reagan and Clinton and the destruction of real wages and living conditions.

      1930s Europe:

"you can’t be racist against Jewish people. the definition of racism centers on power not the tone of dermis. read some different books (Mein Kampf, The International Jew) and open up that independent thinking some."

Pat yourself on the back I guess. Your blind hatred of White people has caused you to use literal Nazi rhetoric.

I don't think I disagree with you in principle, but it's interesting to note that Henry Ford published a four volume book "The International Jew, the World's Foremost Problem". And Volkswagen was founded by the Nazis.

      > In 1920, a newspaper publication or a public speech needed to be really outrageously beyond the frames of the Overton window to end up in mass protests, boycotts, etc. It took a serious effort to coordinate the outrage, so it only happened when people felt really deeply about it.

Uhm, are you familiar with the material Henry Ford was publishing in 1920? Specifically to increase sales?

Perhaps this wasn't "beyond the frames of the Overton window" at the time, I don't know. But cancel culture ain't all bad!
