This lovely book (1978) describes a two month search for the snow leopard with naturalist George Schaller in the Dolpo region of Nepal. The book combines the search for the snow leopard with a search for inner meaning (Zen Buddism)
2. Man's Search for Meaning by Frankl - no matter how bad you think you have it, it can be worse, and you can find meaning.
3. The Snow Leopard by Peter Matthiessen - it's the journey (not the destination) and pay attention!

Been on a travel themed binge the last few weeks, rereading my favorite travel books. I highly recommend Arabian Sands, gives a pretty unique view of how the Arabian Peninsula was changing right after WWII.
