I don't know if it would be useful to you, but perhaps try reading some of the blog posts on earlyretirementextreme.com. Lots of good ideas there on how to save money, be frugal, etc.

Or read a book like "Your money or your life"

The most impactful for me was Your Money or Your Life by Vicki Robin and Joe Dominguez. Made me have a more direct association of time and money and made me focus on the fact free time is more valuable than money (to me) beyond a pretty minimal point.

Read it at 18 while working at a hardware store. Probably the best thing that could've happened to me.

      Some personal favorites:

      - Your Money Or Your Life

Great book on financial independence and simple investing. Get the 2017 version since they made modifications to their investing recs to be less bond centric.

      - I Will Teach You To Be Rich

The name is gaudy IMO, but the contents are very rational and cover pretty much all the foundations of personal finance, from investing to budgeting, to enjoying your life. The name feels like a get rich quick thing, but it's about what the other describes as "living your rich life" - essentially enjoying your money in addition to saving and investing for the future.

      - The Simple Path To Wealth

Great simple investing book. Probably the best investing book for the average person, in my opinion. Well written, to the point, and rational.

There are some other great books out there, but those are three solid ones to start with. I Will Teach You To Be Rich is the most catch all based on what you're looking for.

I think Your Money or Your Life (Vicki Robbins, 1992) predates it and helped inspire Mr Money Moustache, but Collins’ book is great too.

For everyone reading this, pursuing FIRE will impact your life more than any other book. Set the ball in motion and wait. Soon you’ll have time to enjoy all these other great books.

The first time I read "Your Money or Your Life" a long time ago, I stayed up most of the night reading it, because I felt like it was going to change my life and was really fascinating. If a book feels like it's the answer to all my problems then I end up reading it nonstop.

Your Money or Your Life by Vicki Robin and Joe Dominguez is a personal favorite. I re-read every year or so to make sure I'm thinking about my real personal goals. It also makes me trim the fat from my personal budget again each time I read.
