i always liked the "Great Ideas of Philosophy" series by Daniel Robinson, for the Teaching Company (now the Great Courses). it's available to purchase from the great courses website or from Wondrium's very good subscription lectures streaming service. Lecture sets from these two companies are generally of the highest standard.

If you would like to sample it before patronising either of those two businesses, it seems to have been uploaded on youtube.

YES! "A History of Philosophy Without Any Gaps" is the best place imho for anyone to just into learning philosophy.

I'd also recommend "The Great Ideas of Philosophy, 2nd Edition" on audible. https://www.audible.com/pd/The-Great-Ideas-of-Philosophy-2nd...

Literally creating an account because I have to recommend "Great Ideas of Philosophy" by Professor Robinson. It was the first survey course to philosophy I took, and being somewhat unschooled in that area, it opened my eyes to a new world

A number of great selections from The Great Courses, including:

The Great Ideas of Philosophy [0]

Science Wars: What Scientists Know and How They Know It [1]

The History of the United States [2]

World War II: A Military and Social History [3]

There's also this new translation of The Odyssey [4], which I've just started but like so far.

Feynman: "Los Alamos from Bellow" speech, "You Must Be Joking Mr Feynman".

The Teaching Company has "The Great Ideas of Philosophy/Psychology" series and courses in economics I'd recommend.
