Victor Ribeiro makes small browser-based projects such as Isocity, genetic algorithm fractals and pixel physics, and shares them as Show HN posts.
Commenters point readers to his website as having more interesting projects, and like Isocity's URL-encoded map state.
I tried something very similar a few years ago with Radio [1]. To have animations running along side good music. I got in touch with a lot of web radios asking to use their links. In the beginning I had a lot of streams on my project, but after a while I had to remove a bunch of them, cause they either stop working or were not serving it via HTTPS (chrome wouldn't let me stream http over my https app). Most of the animations were made by me, I've asked a lot of programmers to contribute, but few did. In the end, I let the project run it course. Visiting it today to write this post I saw the only one radio is working "Classic Rock Florida HD". Those guys really liked this project, they were using the link to my app instead of theirs a while ago

I'm finding that I can barely last 7 generations to be able to see it 'evolving'. Handicapping the player by waiting for the previous shot to hit before firing again and making the move speed ridiculously slow makes this game too hard even before the genetic algorithm makes an impact.
Also, because the player's move speed is so slow, the easy tactic for the algorithm to head towards is to simply push each enemy to opposite ends of the screen -- ie: hug the wall. If you're clearing one side, the player won't be able to reach the other end of the board even if you move as fast as possible.
TLDR: Interesting concept but to really demo this concept you need to make the game a little easier for the player / don't handicap so much.
Pretty cool! You should link to the demo of the editor (https://victorribeiro.com/tileEditor/) on your Itch page. You should also start with a default grid to make it easy for people to quickly start playing around without having to go through the menus, set the grid sizes, etc.
Edit: I love this! https://victorribeiro.com/isocity It's also a good example of something that's really easy to try out.
live demo works on mobile, looks very nice, but not seeing rotate controls https://victorribeiro.com/isocity/
Doesn't seem to implement rotation - it can reveal obscured objects. https://github.com/victorqribeiro/isocity/blob/master/js/main.js

This is a really neat little game--racing to figure out the controls before the AI shoots you is pretty fun. Here's the direct link to the game from the README.md [1]
