Palmer Luckey, founder of Oculus and Anduril, writes about VR hardware, defense technology, and his views on the industry.
Commenters cite his posts on Oculus Go mods, Magic Leap, and why VR headsets should be cheap, in discussions of VR hardware.
"Magic Leap says they have “built a whole new operating system” called LuminOS to take advantage of their “spatial computing system“. It is actually just Android with custom stuff on top, the same approach most people take when they want to claim they have built a whole operating system... I hope Magic Leap does cool stuff in the future, but the current UI is basically an Android Wear watch menu that floats in front of you."

They should move more stuff off the front of the headset, it would help relieve the pressure on the face and make it more balanced.
Like in this mod from Palmer Luckey where he removed the battery and attaches a bigger one to the strap https://palmerluckey.com/oculus-goblack-how-to-make-your-oculus-go-better/
Not sure why he got rid of the picture of it, but he actually put a computer inside his HHKB. I was waiting for him to do a write up.

99% of this article is quoting or rehashing what Palmer said in his blog post here: http://palmerluckey.com/magic-leap-is-a-tragic-heap/ and 1% of explaining that the claimed "fiber-scanning display" was not EL-wire, but some lasers to a DLP.
Just read the original blog post, its more organized and clearer than this rehashed news article.
Palmer's article "Free isn't cheap enough" seems relevant:

Quest headsets are indeed cheap but but perhaps sacrifice too much on the experience quality. People gotta want something before it can get cheap (not my words).
