Walmart Global Tech's engineering blog covers its work in areas like Kafka, Cassandra, eBPF, React Native, machine learning and malware research.
HN commenters cite it as evidence of Walmart's engineering, such as storing images in Cassandra and a React Native memory profiling comparison.

When Shopify announced they were switching to React Native, their CEO posted this on Twitter about AirBnb giving up:

There are quite a few high profile migrations that end up being reversed, it’s not just Airbnb. Some of them you hear about, like Udacity:
https://engineering.udacity.com/react-native-a-retrospective-from-the-mobile-engineering-team-at-udacity-89975d6a8102
Some of them you don’t. For instance, Walmart wrote a lot about their switch to React Native here:
https://medium.com/walmartglobaltech/a-new-beginning-for-react-native-at-walmartlabs-online-grocery-c30b27db57d3
…but I believe they completely reversed course and went 100% native after that.
v8 is compacting while JSC is not. I think it's telling that v8 released a new GC in 2018 to massively improve their GC performance while in 2019 JSC redid their bytecode and execution engine to radically improve execution performance.
There's limited resources on each team and I suspect the biggest difference here is differing priorities for those resources. There's not many third-party comparisons, but here's two.

What's an 'enterprise company' lol? Many big banks have hundreds, if not thousands of nodejs-based backend services. Is Netflix[0] an 'enterprise company'? What about Walmart[1] ?

> As for cloud service SDKs, are you saying that many node backends rely on cloud SDKs?
Almost anything that uses a cloud service like DynamoDB is going to 'rely on cloud SDKs'... the language is irrelevant.
GPT-3 has been publicly covered in scientific publications. Same as GPT-2, and GPT. Those are all pre-trained models, where GPT is the abbreviation of Generative Pretrained Transformer. Transformers have been invented in 2017 at Google Brain [1].

GPT-4 is around the corner, and it's allegedly 100x more powerful than it'd predecessor.

I know that Walmart Labs India office is good.
A quick internet search gives me these things.

Based on these, I would say they're investing heavily in tech. And their tech is interesting in some ways.
