Ramesh Raskar presents femto-photography, a technique that captures a trillion frames per second, fast enough to show light itself moving through a scene. He discusses possible uses such as cameras that see around corners or inside the body.

HN points to it as the clearest and most striking explanation of femto-photography, with animations that make it easy to follow whenever related imaging stories appear.

Indeed! You should see time flowing backwards in this YouTube video at this timecode: this video Seriously, watch it. Very cool.

There was a similar technique discussed in a Ted Talk using femto-photography, which had an animation showing how it was done for an ELI5[0]. The talk contains references future technology to see around corners. This article may have been inspired by the talk, but it certainly makes it much more available for the rest of us. Not sure why exactly this is news. Ramesh Raskar, the head of the MIT team doing the project did a TED talk on it 2 years ago : this video

The team behind the video of the coke bottle has a TED talk that explains it in detail: this video Edit: oops I misread your comment
