A long Techlore video documenting what it presents as hostile conduct by GrapheneOS leadership and community members, including lead developer Daniel Micay, toward CalyxOS and others.

HN commenters cite it, mostly critically toward GrapheneOS, as the source for the CalyxOS side of the dispute.

I use GrapheneOS, and I've donated to its development. To say that "None of the claims are true" and that they are "baseless" is incorrect. Louis Rossman was a supporter of the project until he and Daniel had a failing out in which Daniel behaved inappropriately [1], all over a Youtube comment. There's proof for that and other claims [2, 4, 5]. Daniel can be a talented developer, privacy advocate and asshole at the same time. It's sad to see him (and others, like yourself) say stuff like "examine the baseless claims", without providing any sources. After all the drama with Calyxos, Techlore, Louis Rossmann etc, at some point one has to notice a pattern of behavior. 1: [LINK] 2: this video 3: [LINK] 4: [LINK] 5: [LINK]

To be fair, the lead dev of graphene os has been crying wolf about stuff like this for ages. For example this video Now, i really like Graphene OS. I consider my Pixel 3a with Graphene OS one of my, if not my most secure device. And the work they do is great. But man, Daniel Mackay would be well advised to reorganize how he interacts with his community and perhaps take some mental health help, i don't think he's been in good place mentally for quite some time :(

I'd never heard of GrapheneOS till 15 minutes ago. I couldn't understand why someone would randomly start swatting an OSS project maintainer.. googling around a bit lead me to this Louis Rossmann video: [LINK] Also this: this video Yikes. Hope this Daniel guy can get some help and find some peace, poor dude seems incredibly unstable. :(

GrapheneOS attacks on other projects is well documented. They have went to the extent of trying to get a Monero community member removed by harassing them [1]. Techlore has documented some of the more nefarious actions [2]. GrapheneOS is currently involved in a dispute with CalyxOS as well. 1 - [LINK] 2 - this video

This has been going on for atleast a year. There's a long video from Techlore which presents the CalyxOS side of the picture and places the blame with GrapheneOS leadership: this video .
