A Computer History Museum oral history interview with Dave Cutler, covering his youth, early work on operating systems at DuPont and Digital Equipment, and his path toward VMS and Windows NT. This is part one of a long-form interview.

Recommended as a rare long-form interview with a legendary operating system designer, though some find it light on technical detail.

      >It was really really stable. Windows 2000 was the last version of the NT branch where Dave Cutler was in charge. He's a legend for a reason. [LINK] Computer History Museum long form interviews: Part 1 this video Part 2 [LINK]

judging from how i've read other people describe him, Dave Cutler's personality seems antithecal to memoirs or biographies, from what I've read he seems to be very much like John Carmack in his total lack of sentimentality. Thankfully some enterprising people have managed to get him to sit infront of a camera, but its pretty light on the nitty gritty technical aspects: - Computer history museum interview: this video - David Plummer's interview: [LINK]
