Most likely increase, despite your intuition. This argument has been debunked so many times both intellectually and empirically. For one, read "Against Intellectual Property" by Stephan Kinsella.

The analogy breaks down because physical property and intellectual property are different. When we input creative works into training sets, we do not withhold those works from someone else! Digital copies are different than scarce resources. *

Also, all the AI ToS I've read have stated they will use my inputs to improve their services. I haven't seen an AI service state they won't use my inputs.

      * Against Intellectual Property is a good book that explores this idea https://cdn.mises.org/15_2_1.pdf

The idea of "intellectual property" is anti-productive as well as immoral. Open source software is a very good evidence of the utilitarian benefits of doing away with software patents. And IP is immoral because it's impossible to grant and secure "intellectual property" rights without violating physical property rights. Please read Stephen Kinsella's "Against Intellectual Property" for a good treatment of both the utilitarian and the moral dimensions:

Others have done that very nicely for me, so if you really are genuinely curious I would suggest you read the following two books. Now you can start off with "Ethics of Liberty"[1] if you would like to begin with the Ethical Parts of the reasoning, but if you're more into how / why it would work (which it seems you are), I would suggest starting out with "For a New Liberty"[2]. Now these books are straight to the core, no sugar coating, so I hope you'll read them with an open mind.

Now since you're on this site you'll probably also find the related book "Against Intellectual Property" interesting.

If I'm going to spend the time telling my visions, I'd prefer a better platform since this thread is getting quite long. You can find a way to contact me in my profile.

Completely unnecessary! These licenses tend to stifle AI! They are immoral. I recommend reading "Against Intellectual Property" by Stephan Kinsella.

Reality: *GPL licenses are proprietary licenses.

I hope Copilot and similar technologies weakens the copyright establishment.
