Thinner
Thinner is a horror novel by American author Stephen King, published in 1984 by NAL under King's pseudonym Richard Bachman. The story centers on lawyer Billy Halleck, who kills a crossing Romani woman in a road accident and escapes legal punishment because of his connections. However, the woman's father places a curse on Halleck, which causes him to lose weight uncontrollably.

- There are many ways of reading, the selection and the diversity (old and contemporary writers) of what you read helps you see how you could appreciate a more critical view of what you are reading. Reading a novel before watching someone's rendering of the same novel into, say Netflix, may expand your imagination and possibly show you how limited the director's version of the same story. I felt that with Stephen King's thrillers, Pet Sematary and Thinner, then watching them as movies.
- Stephen King did this for a few of his books as 'Richard Bachman' [1], although they did better than Rowling's by an order of magnitude, they also sold an order of magnitude worse than a real Stephen King book. Thinner selling 25,000 copies sounds pretty impressive for an 'unknown' author, suggesting King at least has some sort of repeatable mass-market appeal.
