A Jeeves and Wooster novel Thank You, Jeevesis the first novel to feature the incomparable valet Jeeves and his hapless charge Bertie Wooster - and you've hardly started to turn the pages when he resigns over Bertie's dedicated but somewhat untuneful playing of the banjo. In high dudgeon, Bertie disappears to the country as a guest of his chum Chuffy - only to find his peace shattered by the arrival of his ex-fiancee Pauline Stoker, her formidable father and the eminent loony-doctor Sir Roderick Glossop. When Chuffy falls in love with Pauline and Bertie seems to be caught in flagrante, a situation boils up which only Jeeves (whether employed or not) can simmer down...

This is in April: [..]A note in the reissue of Thank You, Jeeves explained that publishers 'sought to edit, minimally, words that we regard as unacceptable to present-day readers'.
The warning adds that the changes ‘do not affect the story’ of the novel, which is the first full-length work to feature Jeeves and Wooster, who were portrayed by Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry in a 1990s ITV adaptation.
Edits were also made to last year's edition of Right Ho, Jeeves, which also contains a cautionary warning.

- Recently I began reading the glorious P.G. Wodehouse (his books with the inimitable Jeeves and other characters) as a breather from the non-fiction work I read. After a serious day with dry technical work, it's incredibly pleasant to read Wodehouse and retire into the night.
As the back cover of my current book, Thank You, Jeeves, says: "Wodehouse always lifts your spirits, no matter how high they happen to be already."
