The author seems to do a lot of unusual and roundabout things with the software on their personal mac. It's cool to see somebody fully exploring personal software and customization, but what they're doing sounds weird to me.

From another post[0] on their blog:

      >You’ll be able to upgrade to version 2.0 for a one-time purchase of $6.99 – no subscriptions here!

No subscriptions here, just me rewriting the app and deciding to charge for the new version every so often.

I'm using Feedly. Checking it once a couple of weeks and happy about my flow.

For notifications, here[1] is a pretty good overview of the problem.

A collection of comments on reformatted alert messages: [2].

Comment on icons, translucency and other quirks: [3].

Not to mention posts on Reddit, Twitter, blogs, etc. about lots of these UI quirks.

Hey, not sure if this is a side-effect of you taking this post down but I was interested in reading another of your posts about B2 vs S3 Glacier and am getting "Error establishing a database connection".

      https://tyler.io/followup-comparing-my-current-b2-storage-costs-against-amazon-s3-glacier-deep-archive/

Actually now I look at it, a lot of pages don't seem to work. I guess it's just the classic Hacker News friendly DDOS.

Thanks for the recommendation. When looking for screenshots I found Tyler Roland’s review and follow up and am intrigued.

MailMate’s correspondence viewer looks great. The conversations add-on for Thunderbird keeps locking up for me, even when I’m in the middle of writing an email. Maddening.

Now due to the auto-hiding scrollbar and no cut-off list items to the bottom, people have no idea that scrolling vertically is possible

      https://tyler.io/perfectly-cropped/

But at least we've rotated the problem by 90 degrees :P
