Andreas Mueller, a scikit-learn core developer, writes about machine learning, kernel methods, and Python tools like the word cloud generator.
HN links it mainly for his scikit-learn machine learning cheat sheet, a decision-flow chart for choosing methods, and his post on the No Free Lunch theorem.
There are various cheat-sheets/decision trees to suggest which machine learning method e.g.

However, if you want to really understand how things fit together you're probably best reading one of the standard intro textbooks: Murphy's Machine Learning, Bishop's Pattern recognition and machine learning, Hastie et al's The Elements of Statistical Learning, or Wasserman's All of statistics.
Or Barber's textbook, which is freely available online and has some nice mind-maps/concept-maps/trees at the start of each section: http://web4.cs.ucl.ac.uk/staff/D.Barber/pmwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Brml.HomePage?from=Main.Textbook
It's currently down - is it the same one discussed at some length a year ago?

Here are some other resources for machine learning, not necessarily restricted to the algorithms implemented in SciKit:

Have you seen this -> http://peekaboo-vision.blogspot.com/2013/01/machine-learning-cheat-sheet-for-scikit.html ... Specifically the image at http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ME24ePzpzIM/UQLWTwurfXI/AAAAAAAAANw/W3EETIroA80/s1600/drop_shadows_background.png It seems like a good start.
There are myriad resources but none that I can think of that cover all the different problem types.
What are you interested in specifically?

In the machine learning cheat sheet [1], one of the boxes is "tough luck".
