The official blog of PCSX2, the open source PlayStation 2 emulator, with release announcements and periodic progress reports.
HN links it for emulator releases and the compatibility list, and commenters mention its dispute over an Android port that violates the GPL.
I'm pretty impressed myself, I'm a layman when it comes to emulators, but I've been following along with the Dolphin Progress reports since JMC47 started posting them in May 2014!
They really strike a nice balance between getting all the tech stuff out there, but also being extremely engaging for laypeople. And they been super consistent, I don't know if they've missed a single month in almost four years.
And it's starting to spread to other projects as well:
RPCS3: https://rpcs3.net/blog/ has started doing a monthly one since they started their Pateron and exploded their development progress.
PCSX2: http://pcsx2.net/281-q4-2016-progress-report.html They are doing a pretty nice quarterly blog.
It's really an amazing time for these kinds of open source projects!
I kinda wish all the major projects I used/followed would do something like this!
On Android, the potential downside (companies stealing your app under alternate names, bundling adware/malware, and even issuing fraudulent takedowns) outweigh the upsides.
Consider allowing some trusted users in your community audit/demo access? The developer of the AetherSX2 emulator for Android worked with the PCSX2 team (Open Source parent software) and YouTubers/other established media in the emulation community to verify their claimed improvements and reputation. https://pcsx2.net/301-aethersx2-pcsx2-mobile.html

Saturn: https://yabause.org/

PSP: http://www.ppsspp.org/index.html

All of these are open source, support Linux, and have good compatability.
There's an Android port but unfortunately it's by some company that's selling it and blatantly violating the GPL.

I don't know if it'll play 50% of games well but pcsx2 has a compatibility list[1] which lists the playability of a lot of games.
