ParkMyCloud, a cloud cost tool vendor, posts about cloud market share, instance scheduling, and ways to cut AWS, Azure and Google bills.
HN links it mainly for cloud market share figures for AWS, Azure and GCP; one commenter also points to its instance scheduling service.
Amazon is more than just amazon.com. AWS is a behemoth all on its own. While everything about AWS isn't amazing, it does a lot of things well, which is why they are one of the leaders in that space with a dominate market share of 33%. I don't know if Amazon breaks out profits from AWS in their financial reports or not, but I would venture AWS is probably their biggest cash cow. I bet Amazon.com could bleed money year-after-year and AWS alone would still make Amazon one of the most profitable companies.

It doesn’t seem like Google wants to win. They’ve been distant #3/4 for 10 years.
If google wanted to win, I’d expect them to be more competitive.
I don’t really use GCP much but it seems like a hobby product line.
For example, they only have $4B revenue last quarter with almost $1B of losses (9% of Google’s revenue) [0],
Compared to AWS’ $13.5B (12% of Amazon revenue) and Azure’s $15B (not sure what percent as this number includes lots of things that I don’t really consider cloud).

They control ~32% of cloud services (https://www.parkmycloud.com/blog/aws-vs-azure-vs-google-cloud-market-share/), and I assume if Parler moved to GCP they would be also blocked.
Question what would MS Azure do?
That mostly leaves Alibaba Cloud (I have no idea if it is available outside China) and "Others" - so a 43%. Not much to choose from considering that the big players have the best prices.
Can someone explain how they claim that TMS is running on 31.9% of top 10 million Alexa websites if Google Cloud itself only has 7% market share[1] (compared to AWS at 32% and Azure at 19%), if the TMS relies on the site being hosted on Google Cloud?

Per this quarter's results, AWS grew at 37% while GCP notched up 54%. Microsoft claims 62%, but as discussed elsewhere in the comments that seems dubious (unless you also believe that Azure is already larger than AWS). MS "Intelligent Cloud" grew at 27%.

In actuality, how many startups have switched from <cloud> to an alternative setup? Truth of the matter is that once a startup gets to a certain size, they use these to lock in savings versus moving to bespoke infrastructure: https://www.parkmycloud.com/blog/aws-edp/
