Paul Duncan (Pablotron) writes about JavaScript, Ruby tools, tiny binaries, and networking opinions, and published PersistJS.
HN links it for the PersistJS client-side storage library, the Wirble IRB tool, and the classic OSI 7-layer burrito joke page.

Pablotron persists to other "backends" for none html5 browsers:
* flash: Flash 8 persistent storage.
* gears: Google Gears-based persistent storage.
* localstorage: HTML5 draft storage.
* whatwg_db: HTML5 draft database storage.
* globalstorage: HTML5 draft storage (old spec).
* ie: Internet Explorer userdata behaviors.
* cookie: Cookie-based persistent storage.
Apart from 'irb/completion' I use 'wirble' [1] for colour highlighting of the output in Ruby/IRB [1]. I had to modify it to get it to work with Ruby 1.9 though [2]. I don't think anybody has done syntax highlighting for input.

this biggest issues is the licensing with Sencha/Extjs vs jquery mobile. I would stick with jquery to be safe or understand your product and hopefully any future uses of your product. They had issues in the past.

I can never see the term OSI an not think of this classic. It gave me and friends a good laugh back in the day ;p

Have you considered adding support for additional persistence layers?
http://pablotron.org/?cid=1557 This guy claims to have unified quite a number of them, I have not tested it.
In the past I have used PersistJS (http://pablotron.org/?cid=1557) for this. Are there reasons to prefer one or the other of these libraries?
