The company blog of Entire, a developer platform from ex-GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke that ties AI agent context to Git commits.
HN links it for the startup's launch and its checkpoints feature for sharing agent sessions; one commenter copied the idea for their own tooling.

> The clearest result was that faster search alone only modestly helps, while better-ranked results improve first-query retrieval and help agents find the right code sooner.
Their tool "pgr" is a research preview only, so it'd be interesting to see semble vs pgr.
I'm also collecting other tools that are similar, most notably is probably Morph's WarpGrep (has a free tier too). Apart from that, there is codemogger (https://github.com/glommer/codemogger), cs (the author also commented in this HN post).
In the similar area, but not fully related, the author of fff is also pretty involved in any thread that goes into that direction (see e.g. https://x.com/neogoose_btw/status/2052161471296225710). Similar to colGREP is also mgrep (by mixedbread) and osgrep (but they seem to predate colGREP). I also found codedb on X (https://codegraff.com/blog/codedb-code-intelligence), the post reads well, but haven't tried.
Glad to see you commenting here despite the, er, unsubstantive disposition of some of the commenters! (I'm a mod here btw in case that wasn't clear.)
I think the root problem is that the OP (https://entire.io/blog/hello-entire-world/) is the wrong genre for HN. It's a fine fundraising announcement, but that sort of enthusiastic non-technical post tends to rub our audience the wrong way because what they really want is technical details. Spectacular non technical details like high valuations, etc., tend to accentuate this.
It may be relocated in some reincarnation.
> Since Dohmke’s departure, there’s been an ongoing talent drain at GitHub. Some GitHub employees have followed Dohmke to his Entire startup[0], a new developer platform that looks like it will compete directly with GitHub. Out of the 30 employees listed at Entire, at least 11 of them used to work at GitHub.

> moving code repos into a decentralised hosting environment
It's unclear to me what Entire means by decentralized. Based on their most recent blog post (https://entire.io/blog/an-entirely-new-git-hosting-network) it seems like they just mean globally distributed, but all controlled by them.
In contrast, Tangled at least offers something where you can own your own data!
Sharing sessions means providing full visibility into what you did with the agent to the team. See https://entire.io/ or https://usegitai.com/
You can already retrieve the session associated with a given line of code.
