Red Hat's community blog covers CentOS, Fedora, oVirt, containers, and Red Hat's open source relationships.
HN commenters link its CentOS FAQ to show that CentOS has been officially part of Red Hat since 2014.
RHEL specifically mentioned it in the FAQ:
http://community.redhat.com/centos-faq/#_what_this_means_for_centos
"The CentOS Project will expand its mission to provide additional open source technology-specific variant editions of the core operating system. Such editions will be capable of serving as a foundation for multiple, complementary cloud/virtualization projects. A current example is the Xen4CentOS project, which provides the components required to use CentOS 6 as a Xen host. Future examples will likely include variants to provide the virtualization component needs for OpenStack and oVirt, and variants providing hardware support and component updates for web hosters."
So they're publicly committing to continue to support that.
A bit more information in the official announcement:
http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-announce/2014-January/020100.html
"With great excitement I'd like to announce that we are joining the Red Hat family. The CentOS Project ( http://www.centos.org ) is joining forces with Red Hat. Working as part of the Open Source and Standards
team ( http://community.redhat.com/ ) to foster rapid innovation beyond the platform into the next generation of emerging technologies. Working alongside the Fedora and RHEL ecosystems, we hope to further
expand on the community offerings by providing a platform that is easily consumed, by other projects to promote their code while we maintain the established base."

From what I recall, a few of the CentOS devs are actually Red Hat employees. Also, I think Red Hat has taken a much more active position in CentOS in the last few years[1].
