Brian Solis, a technology analyst, writes about social media, startups, privacy, and later AI industry developments.
HN links it mostly for reference: a 2009 Ning post, a Twitter history discussion, and OpenAI's five-level scale for defining general intelligence.
Twitter's base DNA was building a "broadcast" platform with a simplistic I/O of communication between two parties. (keyword TWO)
This makes sense in the context of Twitter's underpinnings in emergency vehicle / taxi dispatch. (1)
What it's actually becomes is a massive discussion board where information is organized around people rather than topics.
With the genius tweak of limiting to 140 characters to drive word economy and a low commitment tax to open the app and participate.
As such I am baffled why they don't roll some basic community and forum management tools.
People are having discussions! In a group!
So give them some tools to solve the oldest community challenges in the book of trolling, content discovery, relationship development, etc.

> What the hell is general intelligence anyway?
OpenAI used to define it as "a highly autonomous system that outperforms humans at most economically valuable work."
Now they used a Level 1-5 scale: https://briansolis.com/2024/08/ainsights-openai-defines-five-stages-to-track-progress-toward-human-level-intelligence/
So we can say AGI is "AI that can do the work of Organizations":
> These “Organizations” can manage and execute all functions of a business, surpassing traditional human-based operations in terms of efficiency and productivity. This stage represents the pinnacle of AI development, where AI can autonomously run complex organizational structures.
> thought processes went "I'm a full stack engineer" > ... > "I'm evaluating classes in professional writing"
Let that one run, let's see where it ends.
maybe "I no longer build software; I now make furniture out of wood"
or "Have taken up farming"
or perhaps "I've sold all my RSUs, am taking a Sabattical" > "I'm exploring activities I find more fulfilling: yoga & angel investing" > "I'm the author of a substack blog post where I share life advice with others" [1]
