Treasure Data's company blog covers its data platform, with posts on SQL, logging with Fluentd, Docker, Redshift, and Presto.
HN commenters link it for SQL tutorials aimed at Excel users, MessagePack's background, and Graviton2 benchmarks.
Looks like they continue as independent company, owned by Softbank, https://blog.treasuredata.com/blog/2020/09/14/nvidia-to-acquire-arm/
> The transaction does not include Arm’s IoT Services Group, which is made up of Treasure Data and Arm’s IoT Platform business.
> Back in July, Arm announced a proposed transfer to separate Treasure Data from its core semiconductor IP licensing business, enabling Treasure Data to operate as an independent business. That separation is on track and will be completed before the close of the NVIDIA transaction. Most importantly, you should not see any disruption in our service or support as a result of this news.
So glad to see this. As someone who learned both Excel and SQL on the first job (it's called being an analyst at a trading firm), I always felt that SQL was a "more powerful but clunkier cousin" of Excel and wished there was a tutorial for SQL aimed at Excel ninjas.
Well, fast forward half a decade and nobody wrote it, so I did so awhile back. Of all the things I wrote for work, it continues to be the most popular:

I've definitely recommended your service to my friends looking to learn SQL.
Also, I made my share of contribution to the SQL pedagogy by writing blog articles on "SQL for Excel Users":

Amazon Graviton2 instances are faster (and cheaper) than x86_64 machines in the same class.

I wonder how it compares to messagepack's zero copy serializer: https://blog.treasuredata.com/blog/2011/11/21/messagepack-the-missing-serializer/ ?
