Marius Schulz writes about TypeScript features and release changes, plus regular expressions, editor setup and web development tips.
Commenters point to it as a clear explanation of TypeScript features such as non-nullable types, the object type and downlevel iteration.
The object type is the type of all non-primitive types, what you want is the Object type instead. Yes, it's confusing, especially as there's also the {} type! This article goes over the differences:

Have you looked at TypeScript's non-null types[0]? It gives you compile-time checks for values that might be null. I personally love it and use it for all my projects.

It looks like Typescript also transpiles to a similar try..catch..finally pattern:

I haven't found a bookmarking tool yet that I'm happy with. However, I do love Pocket as well: https://blog.mariusschulz.com/2014/01/28/managing-my-reading-list-with-feedly-and-pocket
In case anyone didn't know, since Typescript 2 there is a compiler option to enable strict null checking.
