An Injustice! is a Medium publication of personal essays and commentary on capitalism, labor, money, and social issues.
Commenters are mixed: one says the authors want to abolish capitalism and offer vague alternatives, while others link it as a rebuttal or support.
Kind of like this [1] [2] [3].
In my personal anecdotal experience, I found the US Midwest culture's handling of conflict shares a lot in common with what I saw in Japan. It is not too surprising to me the homogeneity enforcement follows similar structures in both cultures.
This has a good side to it, though. Once you the friendship of an individual deeply embedded into that culture, beyond that surface niceness, though it may take decades, it is a firm friendship, and they'll give you the benefit of the doubt to give you time to prove your point.

I doubt it, the author's other articles suggest they want a revolution to get rid of capitalism.
It's ironic that they criticize the current approach for not working, and then suggest a nebulous 'transformation' that has even less chance of working. Even if they created a communist revolution in the US, they would then need to extend this to the rest of the world which would likely involve wars that increase emissions.

Well I wasn't referring to the poor specifically. [We can't afford to live anymore](https://aninjusticemag.com/we-cant-afford-to-live-anymore-and-the-rich-are-gaslighting-us-ac8e5bc9b455) and there are [good reasons](https://time.com/5888024/50-trillion-income-inequality-america/) for that. If you have zero savings by working three honest jobs and is otherwise left to die, you are if not a slave then at least a serf.

Largely the point being that this sample would only include prisoners with serious long punishment crimes, like sex crimes. It’s hardly a random sample.
Probability of sex crime given you’re in prison for a serious crime is not a reliable indicator of baseline probability of a sex crime.
